A grant giving Charity to inspire young people to appreciate all aspects of the Arts
How the Trust started
The Alan and Jean Gayton Charitable Trust was set up by Jean in memory of her late husband, Alan Gayton. It was designed to provide funding to enable young people in full time education (who were either born, or are now resident) within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to have the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of the Arts – something which the Gaytons both individually and as a couple were always involved with and passionate about.
The Aims of the Charity
Hopefully to generate the beginnings of a life-long love of the Arts in young people (from primary school age to 6th Form College students). It is hoped to encourage trips to venues around UK to experience top class professional theatre/concert/dance performances, along with visits to art galleries and exhibitions.
The funds are available to be used towards the cost of purchasing tickets or supplying transport to the venues. It may be possible to apply for funding for other related activities within the Arts at the discretion of the Trustees.
The Trust is particularly keen to generate an interest in:

Drama |
Music |
